BLUMEN owner attends case discussion

Professor Iman Adeinat welcomed the owner and CEO of BLUMEN, Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Subaiey to her Supply Chain Management class this February to discuss the case she had written about the flower business. Dr. Al-Subaiey shared some stories about BLUMEN flowers with the students, including a retelling of how the company’s first shipment of flowers for a promotional photoshoot was accidentally swapped for a Seychelles resort assortment of cacti. Dr. Al-Subaiey answered questions from the students about how his company is a leader in the bouquet market, how they are using the brand-new BLUMEN Floral School to engage with the community in tailored workshop experiences, and how he capitalized on the transferable skills CMU-Q taught him to maximize the success of BLUMEN.
