Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar seeks applicants for a Teaching track position at the Assistant Professor level in Business Analytics beginning in the Fall Semester, 2026. This is a career-oriented appointment with primary responsibility for teaching and contributions to the educational mission of the undergraduate Business Administration program in Doha, Qatar. The position also provides support for the pursuit of research interests. Applicants are expected to have a Ph.D. in Data Science, Economics or a closely related quantitative field at the time of appointment, outstanding teaching skills, and a passion for student and community engagement.

The expected teaching load is 2+2 with opportunities to engage in research independently and/or in collaboration with CMU’s researchers across multiple disciplines. Our faculty members are recognized internationally for their expertise and are dedicated to undergraduate education. A reasonable teaching load and small class sizes allow time for quality teaching and curricular development, research and close involvement with students, faculty and the local business and educational community.

Carnegie Mellon’s undergraduate Business Administration program has earned global recognition for its approach to the study of business management as a science. Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (http://www.qatar.cmu.edu/) is a branch campus that operates in concert with several other American and European branch campuses under the umbrella of the Qatar Foundation’s Education City. The branch campus closely follows the admissions requirements and English language curriculum of the home campus, which awards all degrees. The several thousand students in Education City are a broad mix of nationalities. CMUQ’s faculty is a mix of academics hired specifically to the campus and seconded faculty from the main campus. CMUQ’s primary focus is undergraduate education in Business Administration, Biological Sciences, Computer Science and Information Systems. Qualifications

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Data Science, Economics, or a closely related quantitative field. ABDs that graduate by April 2026 will also be considered. While we welcome applicants with relevant backgrounds, we are specifically looking for a candidate with expertise in (1) business analytics or (2) marketing economics. A prior record of teaching effectiveness and/or relevant industry experience is welcomed.

While our primary focus is on appointments at the Assistant Professor rank, exceptional candidates for other ranks may also be considered. This position emphasizes teaching excellence, curricular development, and supervising collaborative student projects. Student advising, mentoring and community outreach are highly encouraged.
