Operations Management students visit Baladna

On Thursday, September 19, 2024, students from the Operations Management course visited Baladna for an enriching industry engagement experience. The visit aimed to bridge classroom theory with real-world practice, offering insights into Baladna’s production processes. Students explored key areas, including raw material storage, production lines, and finished goods storage. This hands-on experience deepened their understanding of supply chain dynamics, capacity management, and inventory practices, bringing concepts like strategic planning to life. Baladna’s operations provided a valuable lens into managing complexities from the “boardroom” to the “toolroom.”

Carnegie Mellon’s 70-371 Operations Management course deals with strategic issues (design of flexible supply), planning issues (capacity management), and operational issues (inventory management and information). The linkage between strategy and tactics is be emphasized.
